S5-S5L 6-Axis Robots
S5-Series 6-Axis Robots Overview
The EPSON S5-Series of 6-axis robots provide superior performance along with industry leading PC based controls. Whether you are looking for high speed, low vibration, higher payloads, more reach or robots for special environment use, EPSON has the S5 model to fit your application requirements. The S5-Series have a rigid arm design combined with advanced EPSON Servo control technology which results in high speed motion AND low vibration even when high precision high speed cycles are required. Also, they have a unique compact design which allows S5-Series robots the ability to reach locations that other similar sized 6 axis robots cannot even come close to reaching. All S5 6-Axis robots feature brakes on all axes and have the flexibility of being mounted in table top, wall or ceiling mount configurations. S5-Series robots are available with 786mm (S5) or 975mm (S5L) of reach. They are also available in ISO4 Clean and IP65 washdown configurations.

EPSON S5-Series Robots are ideal for applications where 6 axis dexterity is required such as: small parts assembly, dispensing, lab automation, machine tending, material handling, medical device manufacturing, packaging, food handling and many other applications requiring speed, precision and/or smooth motion. EPSON S5 6-Axis robots are more commonly used in the following industries: Medical, Consumer, Food, Automotive, Electronics, PC Peripheral, Semiconductor, Plastics, Appliance and Aerospace industries. They can be used for a wide variety of applications ranging from material handling to medical product assembly. There are thousands of different applications that these robots can handle. Give us a call and let us help you with your next application.

Powerful Controls
EPSON S5-Series 6-axis robots are available with our industry leading PC based RC620+ or the compact yet powerful RC180 controllers. With a 2 tiered controls offering, customers can select the right controller for their application. Customers can also take advantage of one controls solution for their entire factory regardless of which EPSON Robots they select (6-Axis, SCARA or Linear Axes). Plus, our development environment, EPSON RC+ , provides industry leading ease of use due to the intuitive design and multitude of time saving features and capabilities. The power and flexibility of the EPSON RC620+ PC based controller also reduces workcell integration by providing all the functionality normally required for a typical robot workcell in one compact package.

Integrated Options
EPSON S5 and S5L Robots have a wide variety of integrated options available to help reduce the time required to solve complex application problems. Since everything is done from one development environment, developers can focus on solving their applications vs. dealing with multiple programming languages/environments and trying to get various perpheral products to communicate and work properly together. With our PC based controls and tight integration of options from EPSON Robots, our customers are able to build complex applications in minimal time as compared to other vendors products.

Current Integrated options for the S5-Series product line include: Vision Guidance (Vision Guide), Conveyor Tracking, .NET Support (VB Guide), LabView Connectivity, Additional Axis Control, Force Sensing, EtherNet/IP (Master & Slave), DeviceNet (Master & Slave), Profibus (Master & Slave), Security/Audit Log, and others that come out on a regular basis. Be sure to ask us if you need an option or capability you don't see here. With PC based controls the chances are that there is a solution available from a 3rd party vendor or it may be something we are working on as our next integrated option.

Fast Tool Orientation and Rotation
Cycle time is critical for today's demanding high speed applications. At EPSON Robots our focus has always been on producing the fastest robots while maintaining our high level or reliability. To achieve the fastest cycles times means that all axes must perform at the highest levels. This is why the orientation Axes for the EPSON S-5 Series arms are built and fine tuned for maximum speed. The J4 and J5 axes travel at up to 450 deg/sec and the J6 wrist rotation axis travels up to 720 deg/sec.
