2 Axis EPSON EZ Modules come available in Heavy or Medium configurations. The primary difference is that the rigidity and thus the payload capability is much more for the Heavy modules vs. the Medium version. The Heavy modules have a maximum payload of 25Kg where the Medium modules have a maximum payload of 15Kg. However, both have top speeds of up to 1500mm/sec. (Keep in mind also that the Medium EPSON EZ modules have a smaller footprint as well which can prove beneficial when it comes to cell layout and floorspace.) 2 Axis EPSON EZ Modules come in an RG configuration. RG type modules have the carriage for the Y Axis (2nd Axis) running along the side of the Y axis. This is for attaching payloads to the side of the Y Axis. EPSON EZ Modules are connected directly to our RC620+ PC Based controllers using the same cabling as our G-Series robots. Up to 12 axes can be run from one RC620+ controller. A wide variety of options including Vision Guide, .NET Support, GUI Builder, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and many more are available with all EZ Modules. EPSON EZ Modules are ideal for simple pick and place applications but they can also be used for many different jobs like sealant or glue laying applications, parts handling and even precision assembly tasks.

2 Axis "Heavy" (RG-HM) EPSON EZ Modules Specifications

The RG-HM (Heavy) EPSON EZ Modules are high in both speed and payload performance. They incorporate high torque AC servo motors for reduced maintenance and our high performance servo system available only with Epson RC620+ PC based controllers. This combination of rigid mechanical arms along with our high performance servo system yields the best solution available for linear modules today. The 1st Axis (X Axis) uses an RH "Heavy" module and the 2nd axis (Y Axis) uses an RM "Medium" module. The Y Axis is attached to the carriage of the X Axis. The Y Axis moves in a horizontal direction and carries the payload mounted to the carriage which runs along its side. RG-HM models come with X Axis lengths available from 400-1000mm and Y Axis lengths from 350-750mm. The YZ (Medium) EPSON EZ Modules are made for fast pick and place applications. They incorporate high torque AC servo motors for reduced maintenance and our high performance servo system available only with the RC620+ PC based controller. This combination of rigid mechanical arms along with our high performance servo system yields the best solution available for linear modules today. The 1st Axis (Y Axis) uses an RM "Medium" module and the 2nd axis (Z Axis) uses an RSz "Small" module which also incorporates a brake mechanism. The Z Axis is attached to the carriage of the Y Axis. The Z Axis moves in a Vertical direction and carries the payload mounted to the carriage which runs along its side. YZ models come with Y Axis lengths available from 350-750mm and Z Axis lengths from 200-400mm. With this many combinations of sizes you are sure to find one that fits your specific application needs. Absolute Encoders

All EPSON EZ Modules Axes come standard with Absolute Encoders. This means that they don't have to be sent to a home position when first powering the controller up.
