- EPSON RC+ is EPSON's high
performance PC based Robot Workcell Controller Software. By taking advantage of
the strengths of open PC architecture (fast CPU's, reliable high performance
hardware, access to 1000's of standard hardware and software products, well
known Windows XP Operating System, etc.), EPSON RC+ provides the power and
flexibility required for today's Robot Workcells while maintaining the ease of
use and reliability EPSON Robots and Controls are famous for.
At the heart of EPSON RC+ is EPSON's Real-Time
Engine capable of controlling up to 48 simultaneous tasks. Add to that our
robust SPEL+ Language and superior motion and I/O control and you've got a
powerful controller capable of handling the demands of even the most difficult
Robot Workcells. But we didn't stop there.
EPSON RC+ also excels in the areas of flexibility
and expandability. There are literally
thousands of third party hardware and software products for the PC which EPSON
RC+ users can take advantage of. This open access to adding capabilities to
EPSON RC+ is what open architecture is all about. In fact, we feel so strongly
about allowing our customers open access to third party PC products that we
even built our SPEL+ language with expansion in mind. With EPSON RC+, users can
extend the SPEL+ language through user built DLL's (Dynamic Link Libraries).
This allows our users to take advantage of the open architecture of the PC but
at the same time program their robot workcells from the familiar, powerful, and
easy to use SPEL+ language.

| Vision Guide
6.0: Provides a powerful
yet easy to use machine vision option integrated into the EPSON RC+ system that
can be used for Robot guidance or part inspection tasks. Vision Guide 6.0
significantly reduces the development time normally required with most machine
vision systems. (RC620+ or RC180) |
| Conveyor
Tracking: EPSON Robots
offers Vision and sensor based conveyor tracking solutions with our RC620+ controller. Parts can be picked up off moving conveyors at high speeds
with great reliability. And of course EPSON conveyor tracking is extremely easy
to setup and use. (RC620+ Option) |
| VB Guide 6.0:
EPSON leads the industry
with powerful .NET support that allows EPSON Robots to be programmed using
popular Windows based programming languages such as Visual Basic, Visual C/C++
and more. (RC620+ or RC180) |
GUI Builder: Provides a powerfully simple mechanism for building a GUI for use with EPSON Robots. Done with a point and click interface similar to visual basic but completely integrated into the EPSON RC+ Development Environment. (RC620+ Option) |
| Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, CC-Link: Master or Slave communications interface for 4 major fieldbus communications standards. Slave boards use one of our "real time" I/F slots to provide high performance real time response times. (RC620+ and RC180) |
| Security
Option: Flexible
mechanism to "lock out" specified areas of EPSON RC+ from use by non-authorized
personnel. Also provides a "Security Audit" to keep track of who logs into the
system and the associated actions performed. (RC620+ and RC180) |
| Discrete I/O: 64 I/O (32 In/ 32 Out) are provided on a
single board. Up to 4 additional boards can be added to an RC620+ controller. (RC620+ and RC180) |
| RS232 Ports: An RS232 board is available to provide up to 4 additional RS232 ports for communications with external devices. (RC620+ and RC180) |
| Teach Pendant: Our TP1 Teach Pendant is available as an option for use with the RC620+ or RC180 controllers. Most customers find that a teach pendant is not needed when teaching points for EPSON Robots due to our very easy to use EPSON RC+ Jog and Teach Window. However, for 6 axis applications it can be very useful. (RC620+ and RC180) |
