New Low Cost High Performance Micro PowerDrive
Controller
As the industry
leader in true PC based robot
controls, EPSON's RC520 and RC420 controllers are powerful, flexible and
easy to use. However, after reviewing with our customers what they would like
next they replied that they would like less. EPSON controllers are great for
high performance and high end applications but what about simple pick and place
type applications where a simple controller at a reduced price would be a much
better fit. As a result of those discussions, the
Micro PowerDrive Controller was
created. The primary design goals were to keep as much performance as possible
while at the same time significantly reducing the cost. We took our PowerDrive
servo technology which provides industry leading motion performance and
combined it with our proven EPSON RC+ Development Software to create a low
cost, high performance controller. It is the smallest 6 axis controller on the
market. But don't let it's ultra compact size fool you as it still packs quite
a performance punch that allows it to be used for applications ranging from
simple pick and place to more complex or motion performance intensive
applications as found in the electronics and medical
industries.

Additional Pro Six Robots Added to EPSON 6 Axis Robot
Lineup
Due to the popularity of
the Pro Six PS3 6 axis robots, EPSON
robots recently added new models to our Pro Six Robot Lineup. Customers loved the
PS3 6 Axis robot but also had applications that require more reach and more
payload capability. To meet these demands, we added the
PS5,
PS3L and
PS3LP to our Pro Six Lineup. All 3 new
models run from our popular EPSON RC520 PC
based controller with our easy to use EPSON RC+ software. The new Pro Six PS5
and Pro Six PS3L 6 axis models now capable of up to 6 Kg payloads and reaches
of up to 949mm. All EPSON Pro Six robots use the same industry leading EPSON
RC520 PC based controller that controls our popular
E2 Series Robots (SCARA) and
EPSON EZ Modules (Linear Modules) thus
allowing customers to take advantage of one controls solution for their entire
factory. With reaches of up to 949mm (859mm at the wrist center), payloads up
to 6Kg, high performance Sigma III AC servo motors, the famous EPSON servo
control system, and of course EPSON RC520 PC based controller, EPSON has the
right robot for the most demanding 6 axis applications.

New
EPSON Pro Six Robots (6-Axis Robots)
Due to the overwhelmingly popular
RC520 PC based controller and
EPSON RC+ software, our customers
once again requested that we build a new manipulator to connect to our powerful
yet easy to learn and use controls platform. The
EPSON Pro Six PS3-AS00 combined with
the RC520 PC based controller is the result of those requests. While the market
is full of 6-axis models, it became clear to us that what the market really
wanted was a great controls platform along with a great 6-axis arm. The EPSON
Pro Six PS3 uses the same industry leading EPSON RC520 PC based controller that
controls our popular E2 Series Robots
(SCARA) and EPSON EZ Modules (Linear
Modules) thus allowing customers to take advantage of one controls solution for
their entire factory. With a reach of 791mm (701mm at the wrist center), high
performance Sigma III AC servo motors, the famous EPSON servo control system,
and of course EPSON RC520 PC based controller, the Pro Six can solve even the
most demanding of 6-axis type applications.

New
EPSON EZ Modules (Linear Axis Modules)
EPSON Robots is proud to announce a new addition to our manipulator
lineup, EPSON EZ Modules (linear axis
modules). Our customers have asked us for simple linear modules which can be
controlled from our PC Based RC520 and
RC420 controllers. The EPSON EZ Modules were created in response to that
customer request. EPSON EZ Modules are available in 1, 2 and 3 axis
configurations with speeds up to 1500mm/sec. Sizes range from 400-1000mm for
the 1st axis, 350-750mm for the 2nd axis and 200-400mm for the 3rd axis. With a
wide variety of both sizes and styles you are sure to find an EPSON EZ Module
to fit your application needs. However, if you find that we don't have an EZ
Module to fit your needs please give us a call as more styles are coming in the
future.

E2
Robots UL Listed (Meet ANSI/UL1740 Safety Standard)
All EPSON E2 SCARA Robots are UL listed. This means that they meet the
tough ANSI/UL1740 Safety standard for Industrial Robots. Of course they are
also CE and ANSI/RIA15.06 Compliant as well. But the significance of the UL
listing for the US market is that now many state and local regulators are
requiring that robots used in manufacturing facilities be UL listed. For
example, the states of California and Texas now require that robots used in
their states to meet the ANSI/UL1740 Safety standard or else fines or even
factory shutdown will occur.
|
Meeting ANSI/UL1740 also Ensures Conformance of other National, Canadian and International Safety Standards

New E2
SCARA Robots
EPSON's E-Series
SCARA Robots are well known in the industry for their ease of use, high
performance, and especially their reliability. We are now happy to announce
that EPSON just introduced the next generation E-Series Robots called the
E2 Robots. These E2
SCARA Robots are more compact, faster, more repeatable and have higher U Axis
moment of inertia specs then the E-Series. They are available in 250, 350, 450,
550, 650 and 850 mm sizes with a variety of Z-Axis stroke options. There is
also a new line of E2 SCARA Robots called the Multi-Mount Robots which can be
mounted in wall mount, ceiling mount or shelf mount configurations. These new
models are sure to be a big help for many factories since they can be mounted
up and out of the way of conveyors and feeders while still delivering the fast
cycle times expected of EPSON Robots. And before we forget, you can also get
nearly every E2 model configured as a class 10 clean room model as
well.

New RC420
Compact PC Based Controller
One of the things our customers like most about EPSON Robots is our
great RC520 PC based Controller. The intuitive interface is a delight to learn
and use and the powerful SPEL+ language is a favorite of system designers
throughout the world. One of the requests we have heard quite a few times from
our customers was for a PC based controller product that could be shrunk down
in size and into a single box solution vs. the 2 box RC520 solution. EPSON is
now happy to announce the
RC420 Compact PC Based
Controller. This new small form factor controller is just a bit larger than
an industrial PC but packs all the same power our users have come to know and
expect from our RC520 PC based controller. So the RC420 with its power in a
small form factor is now quickly becoming the EPSON robot controller of choice.
When factory floor space is at a premium the RC420 is a great solution. And the
beautiful part is that you don't have to sacrifice performance or flexibility
to get the compact size.
